“I’ve always found it most rewarding to share people’s experiences and passions, believing we all have something we can connect on together,” says Cynthia. “When I became more involved in studying climate & social justice, my drive to be behind the camera suddenly fit perfectly into place with my passion for people, community, and nature… the telling of their stories, and how they are intertwined.”
“Editing was the first step that took me from making home videos with my friends, to embarking on a professional storytelling career. Transitioning on-set, I worked my way up through lighting department, and soon after transitioned into Camera & Underwater Oping, where I finally felt most connected to this craft. The integration of these diverse skills, into the way I operate cameras, has cultivated a distinctive style, characterized by a heightened awareness of my surroundings, angles, and the optimal visual approach to capture a story for the edit.”
“Did you know that over 50% of the air we breathe is produced by phytoplankton and seaweed?”, asks Cynthia. “Protecting our waters is critical to the survival of our planet, and ourselves.”
Driven by a deep passion for climate justice and stories that show how interconnected we are with our ecosystem, Cynthia leverages her expertise in camera operation, specializing in underwater operating, as a platform for environmental conservation. Her commitment to storytelling through these mediums aims to inspire and mobilize action on both local and global scales.
