Bodie got his start in music supervision putting music to a bouldering short film in exchange for a pair of Smith sunglasses. He was known as the guy in the outdoor scene in Boulder, CO who had his hands on cool music and could get the job done. He has gone on to wear many hats in the music industry for the past 15+ years.
Since the initial bouldering films, Bodie has built up a significant portfolio of music supervision projects covering kayaking, mountain biking, skiing, conservation activism, climbing/mountaineering, fishing, outdoor lifestyle, and athleisure. He’s as passionate about working with big brands and professional athletes, as scrappy start-ups who have something to offer to mountain culture.
He’s worked on everything from long-form advertisements to short films and feature-length documentaries. One of his favorite projects was Patagonia’s Damnation documentary, which provided an opportunity to bring together his passions for the outdoors and conservation, on a project with a presenting brand he’s proud to align with. And, he especially enjoys playing a creative role on projects where he’s entrusted with the conceptual side of curating a soundtrack and given free rein to take an artistic approach.
Bodie is also the founder of BackForty Management, where he manages several international touring artists. His experience as a manager gives him a unique edge in music supervision, as he navigates the different relationships and perspectives of brands, production companies, rights holders, and artists on his projects. He is also regularly invited to speak at universities and film festivals to shed light on both of these roles.
Colorado-born and raised, Bodie is an avid skier, mountain biker, fly fisherman, and climber, he has participated in mountain culture his whole life. He spends weeks in Denver and weekends in his homes away from home — in Winter Park or Estes Park, with his wife, two kids, and pup.
