Biography
I grew up in Hopkinton, Massachusetts in the 80’s racing dirt bikes, riding BMX and Skiing. In 1983 my Dad and I flew to SFO rented a car and drove to Laguna Seca to watch my Uncle race his 289 AC Cobra. We drove the Cobra back through Yosemite and it was there that I was struck by the enormity of Rock Climbing. 30 years later I was the Photo Editor for Rock & Ice magazine and was mentoring many of the best outdoor photographers in the US. These days I shoot portraits of all kinds, CEO’s, Celebrities, Business Professionals and more. I work with Large format, Medium format and alternative process to create unique imagery.
Career Highlights
This was a cover shoot with Chris Davenport for Elevation Outdoors Magazine. We were on the Gondola at 7am to shoot before the skiers arrived on Aspen. My first assistant Seth was shooting BTS images with a Prototype Profoto Air TTL-N remote. My second assistant Blake was holding the Chimera Medium Softbox as a human light stand. We didn’t know much about the prototype air remote but learned quickly that it was changing the power output on the B1’s to power 8 from power 4-5. Once the remotes were released into the wild we found out that in order to sync over 1/250th the power of the heads needed to be at 8-10 in order to fire. We nailed the cover despite the challenges of the broken stand and the prototype air remote.
