One of the most prolific professional skiers of his generation, Chris Davenport has touched nearly every aspect of his sport, from films to guiding to gear. He’s evolved from ski racer to extreme skiing champion, from ski film star to backcountry pioneer. This is the guy who skied the 100 highest peaks in Colorado, co-authored the book, “Fifty Classic Ski Descents of North America,” and skied off the top of the Lhotse Face. He has notched first descents from Alaska to Antarctica.
“It’s been a natural progression,” Davenport says. “I’ve always been curious about wanting to try new things in the mountains. What’s great about this sport is that skiing evolves, just as we do.” Now decades into his career and a member of the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Hall of Fame, Davenport is omnipresent in the world of skiing. These days, he’s mostly focused on guiding clients and hosting camps in snowy places all over the world as well as helping to guide brands with content creation in big mountains and the wider outdoors.
